At the beginning of April, the city was fielding almost 100 complaints a day, dropping to about 60 a day in the last two weeks, according to a news release from the mayor’s office. As of Wednesday, the city’s Business Affairs and Consumer Protection Department had issued citations to 69 businesses, made 1,262 in-person checks on businesses and called more than 11,000 businesses about the stay-at-home order, according to the city. Fines can run up to $10,000.
