MDH to announce next steps in Minnesota's COVID-19 vaccine rollout - KSTP

Starting next week, the state plans to set up permanent community vaccination clinics in Minneapolis, Duluth and a yet-to-be-determined site in southern Minnesota.

Over the past two weeks, more than 27,000 Minnesotans received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at nine pop-up community clinics across the state, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.

Health officials say these community clinics are designed to be a supplement to primary care providers to broaden the vaccine rollout to people who might not have a go-to doctor or health care provider. However, the state expects most people to get their shots at clinics, hospitals and pharmacies.

So far Minnesota has administered 531,048 COVID-19 vaccines, including 159,190 in the past week. A total of 111,715 Minnesotans have completed the two-shot vaccine series.
